We did a month long A- Z themed blogging marathon last month. We had 4 categories – Baked , Regional , International / Fusion Food  and a Misc category.


Here is a recap of the posts…..

A – Azuki Bean Brownies -I kick started this marathon with a healthy ‘No flour’ brownie  made with Azuki bean.I never baked a flour-less dish before and this one is both tasty and very healthy….

B – Butterfly Pea Flower Drink – I can never forget the search for the flower to make this drink. Just when I wanted to make this, the plant in my garden was infested. So I had to search the neighborhood and I did! I finally found one near an apartment and got loads of flowers! Each time I walk that way, this recipe pops up in my mind….

C – Congyou Bailuobosi – A simple cold salad from the place that was my second home….

D – Dates Cake – Eggless / No milk / No butter!!! – A very healthy bake that was so moist and no one believed when I told them it had no egg/butter / milk!!!

E – Elaneer Payasam [Tender coconut Kheer] – A simple and refreshing Kheer from my home town…..

F – Falooda – Ice cream Falooda And Kulfi Falooda – Two yummy ways to chill out….

G– Gatte Ka Pulao – When looking out for recipes with this alphabet, the one in the drafts came to my rescue. A simple dish from Rajastan….

H Huo Guo – A virtual tour of a restaurant / eating style in China….

I – Italian Bhel Puri Salad – A totally different take on an Indian street food and Italy’s pride!!!

J – Jui Cai Bing / Chinese Scallion Pancakes- A famous and flavorful street food from China

K – Kiri bhat and Chilli Sambal -A simple Rice dish which turns to an lip smacking one when pared with a spicy Chutney all the way from Sri Lanka….

LLeprechaun Shake / Shamrock Shake- I never knew this shake existed till I made this for one of the events. The kids loved the color!!!

M – Mysore Rasam -A rasam / soup from Karrnataka that has ground coconut added to it!

N – Nannari Sherbet – A refreshing beverage that is usually sold on the streets during summer times…

O – Olo Kobi Bhaja – I wanted to make something with Oats since its my favorite. Yet changed it to this simple Turnip stir fry from Odisa…

P – Pirandai Thuvaiyal – A healthy chutney made from a herb….

Q Qahwa Arabaia  – Coffee is not just a beverage to sip up and relax but many a feuds and fights have been settled over this exotic Arabian coffee….

R– Ragi cupcakes – A healthy bake with finger millet flour….

S– Savory Semolina – Vegetable Bake – The baked version of the regular Upma!!!!

T Thoodhuvalai Rasam  – Another herbal rasam / Soup

U – Undrallu Sundal and Undrallu Payasam/ Ammini Kozhukkatai & Paal Kozhukattai – Few of the Ganesh Chaturthi Prasad found its place in this marathon…..

V – Vetrilai Poondu Sadham with Nelikkai Pachadi –  Betel leaf Garlic Rice with Gooseberry in Yogurt Sauce, a dish from my hometown full of medicinal properties….

W- Wonton Noodle Soup -An eternal Chinese favorite that made me so nostalgic….

X Xi Fan -A simple yet nutritious Conjee / porridge that is a breakfast staple in China

Y – Yangmei – Bay Berry – A tangy-sweet berry that was our favorite when we liven in China…..

Z – Zensen Soup – I rounded off the marathon with this filling soup that has spinach and other vegetables…..

I took advantage of the ‘Baby on Board’ clause where we need not follow the number of recipes per theme.

Hope you enjoyed this recap. I enjoyed compiling this list. While I was searching for the recipes,I learnt a lot of new stuffs and I have tried of a lot of new recipes too.   1. PJ, when reading through your post, I just can't seem to take my eyes off your pictures. The clicks are awesome and I loved reading through your posts. I am yet to comment on few posts, will get to them soon.
