Here is a simple snack to munch on with the evening cup of coffee! This recipe is from the small booklet that came with a canola oil that was sent for review. I tried a couple of recipes from that book and also used the oil in cakes and to make other dishes. This recipe is very simple and tastes good from the crunch of the sesame seeds used.

This can be serves with coffee/ tea , with lunch as a side and also makes a great after school snack for kids…

I used:

Cauliflower – 1 small,florets seperated
Oil to deep fry

Batter:

All purpose flour-1/2 cup
Corn flour-1/4 cup
Red chili powder- 1 teaspoon

Chaat masala – to taste
Salt to taste

To coat

Sesame seeds- 1/4 cup

  1. Blanch and drain the cauliflower florets and keep aside.
  2. Take the ingredients for the batter and add water little by little and make a batter of coating consistency. Make sure there are no lumps.
  3. Heat oil for frying
  4. Dip the florets in the batter and roll in over a plate with sesame seeds.
  5. Gently drop it into the oil and deep fry till golden.Deep fry in batches.
  6. Drain and serve.
