Oats Sesame Ladoo | Vegan Dessert with step by step pictures

What would you do when are kids are on a heated argument regarding the ownership of the tiniest pencil? Well, I would make Ladoos, actually 3 kinds and that too under 20 minutes!!

If you haven’t read my 2 ingredient peanut ladoo recipe, take a look to know what was happening that day!!

Okay, enough of bragging and now on to the details about this dish.

I have chosen Oats as the sub theme for the Mega Marathon themed Protein rich dishes.

Technically Oats is gluten free since it does not belong to the wheat family. Instead of gluten it has another protein called avenins.Oats contain 17g protein / 100 grams. It is also a favorite ingredient on mine and you can see that from the number of recipes with Oats that are on the blog!!

SO when I needed to make something quick, this is what I came up with. Apart from the 2 ingredient peanut ladoo and 3 ingredient urad dal ladoo, this one was part of the 20 minute deal on a bored evening.

Oats, sesame seeds and jaggery come together to give you this healthy and delicious ladoo!!

Heat a little oil in a small pan and fry the cahews. Once they turn brown, drain and remove from pan and break it into small bits and keep aside.

Dry roast oats on low flame till a nice aroma arises. Keep aside to cool.

Take sesame seeds and jaggery in a mixie jar and grind in small bursts to combine. Add roasted oats and run the mixie in short bursts to combine.Transfer the mixture on to a plate

Add the broken cashew bits and mix. Make ladoo out of this mixture and store in an air tight container.

Give into your sweet cravings and enjoy this healthy dessert…

  1. What a quick way to make ladoos. I remember reading your kids’ fight over the pencil. And look what you did by that time. Making three recipes for the blog is not an easy work. These ladoos look so good and next time I will try this for my daughter too..

  2. hahahah..so this was the other ladoo..will wait for the 3rd one to make its appearance!..maybe you can bribe your kids to pick a fight more often if you can whip up some delicious goodies like this..lol’

  3. I love the use of jaggery , which I was so reluctant to try previously . Ever since I made peanut jaggery ladoos , I have started loving the idea of jaggery in ladoos . Bookmarking these to make soon , and waiting for the final Ladoo .

  4. Lucky for me the stage of arguments over pencils is over. It’s now liners, t-shirts, shorts and shoes. looks like even I should resort to making ladoos.:D
These laddos are delicious and I want to try them. I wish I can grab them.
