Pumpkin Dosa Recipe | Parangikaai Dosai Recipe with step by step pictures.

Whenever I see a recipe that I like, I bookmark it immediately. Sometimes, I just let it sit in the bookmarks. And very rarely, I get around to making the dish almost immediately.

This Pumpkin Dosa Recipe | Parangikaai Dosai Recipe falls under the second category. Priya had posted this dish on her space and I loved it so much that the very next day I got a pumpkin from the farmers market and made this for breakfast!

This is one easy way to get the kids and adult eat pumpkin.Well, no one[except me] like this veggie and I found the perfect recipe to hide it in!

This is my second post for Blogging Marathon #82, Week 1, Day 1, Under the theme Crepes for all times. Dosas are our very own crepes and hence I am posting it for the theme.

A healthy breakfast dish made with pumpkin. It is a grind and pour kind of dish!

Course: Breakfast
Cuisine: Indian
Servings: 10
  • 1 cup Raw rice
  • 1/4 cup Urad dal
  • 3 numbers Red chilies
  • A huge knob Ginger,peeled
  • 1 cup Chopped Pumpkin
  • Salt to taste
  1. Soak the urad dal and rice. I soaked them separately.  [You can soak it together too].

  2. After 2-3 hours, drain the water and grind the rice and urad dal to a smooth batter, adding a little water. Do not make it too watery.

  4. Add this to the batter and mix in salt.

  5. Mix well and make dosas as usual.

  1. You know Its quite funny that whenever we bring pumpkin, I have to make puris with it as no one in my family eats pumpkin otherwise. That is the reason I have stopped bringing pumpkin. I should certainly try this dosa to have another dish with pumpkin, but my dosas are not good. That’s why when we met for BM meet, I wanted to learn dosa from you all experts from South. Next time, I’m going to force Valli to hold a dosa making session 🙂
