Almost all of us are on the lookout for non fried snacks. I was happy to try out one such snack for Taste and Create. This month I was paired with Kat who blogs @ Study food. It is a blog about food for students created by a student!

This is the second time I am paired with her. The previous time I prepared this Oven fries. Like the previous time,I munched on these reading the book I received for review – Once upon the tracks of Mumbai. The story is very different and interesting – about an autistic person actually.I will be posting the review shortly.

Coming to today’s recipe, this is what I used…
Source – Study Food

Black chickpea / Kaala channa-1/2 cup
Garam masala- 1/2 teaspoon
Chili powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Oil- 1 1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste

  1. Pressure cook the chickpea till soft and drain the excess water. Spread on a kitchen towel until there is no moisture. It is absolutely necessary that there is no trace of water else the roasting time will be longer.
  2. Mix the spices in the oil and pour over the chickpeas.Mix well.
  3. Spread it out on a baking try lines with a foil and bake in a preheated oven @ 180 Degree C for 25 minutes[The baking time may vary].Stir once every 10 minutes.Check to see if it is crunchy , else bake for some more time.
Enjoy the guilt free snack!!!!!
