This post is a part of the main post that was made for Karnataka with the theme – Indian Food Odyssey where we visited 30 Indian states and Union Territories as a part of the Mega Blogging Marathon April 2014…

I invited my fellow bloggers to my house[virtually of course] and cooked a dish for each meal of the day….

I chose a simple dinner recipe-Akki Shavige uppitu . It is nothing but seasoned rice noodles, karnataka style….

I used:

Homemade rice noodles / Akki Shavige / Store bought ready to eat plain rice noodles/ Sevai – 3 cups
Mixed boiled vegetables- 1 cup[I used carrot, beans, peas]
Roasted peanuts- 2 tablespoons
Onion-1, finely chopped
Mustard- 1 teaspoon
Gram dal-1 teaspoon
Urad dal,split- 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder- a large pinch
Red chili-2
Curry leaves-a  few
Salt to taste
Lemon juice to taste
Oil-2 teaspoons

Heat
oil in a pan and add the mustard, gram dal, urad dal, red chili and
saute for a minute till it splutters. Then add the peanuts and after a
minute add the onion and curry leaves. Cook till the onion is soft.

Add turmeric powder and the cooked vegetables, salt. Add the Akki shavige / rice noodles.

Mix well. Switch off the heat and add lemon juice. Mix once more and it is ready to be served….

This can be had as such or can be served with sambar and coconut chutney…

Bon Appetit…
