There are times when even the kids favorite dish turns into left overs. That’s when imagination kicks in and I feel like experimenting! One day made this noodle dish and was left with a big bowl of left overs. I think I miscalculated everyone’s appetite!!

Then I transformed it into this tasty snack that disappeared within minuted during tea time! I added cheese to the batter with which I made this snack specially for the event-Say Cheese that I hosting here this month a part of  Srivalli’s Kids delight event

This will be sure hit with the kids and adults alike. The crunchy balls are great to have with tea / coffee and this snack is also so easy to prepare!

This is also for Blogging Marathon #48, Week 3,Day 2 under theme Kids Delight – Say Cheese…

I used:

Leftover cooked Noodles with vegetables from 1/2 a packet
All purpose flour- 1/2 cup
Chili powder- 1 teaspoon
Coriander leaves, chopped- a handful
Grated cheese- 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Oil to deep fry

In a bowl take the flour, chili powder, cheese and salt. Add water and mix to a batter of pouring consistency.Add the noodles and mix. Sprinkle a little water if needed. The noodle should mix with the batter and there mixture should not be watery. If it is watery add more flour.

Heat oil for deep frying. Drop spoon fulls of the noodle mixture into the oil and deep fry on medium heat till golden brown.Remove from oil once done.

Serve with tomato sauce….

Note:

You can make this with freshly boiled noodles as well. Add parboiled vegetables to the batter and proceed as above.

Bon Appetit…

  1. This is so clever! It reminds me a bit of vermicelli fritters I made. I love the idea of turning leftovers into a new treat and I love the dipping sauce. I will try it next time I have leftover noodles, thanks!
