Mint flavored Peas Sundal

Peas sundal with a refreshing minty flavor

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Dried Peas
  • 1 number Tomato
  • 1/2 Small bunch mint leaves
  • 1 number Green chili
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Grated Coconut

Instructions

  1. Soak the peas for 5-6 hours. I let them soak over night. Drain and discard the water.Take the peas in a vessel, add enough water and salt. Pressure cook for 4 whistles/ till done.Drain and discard the water.

  2. Grind together tomato, mint, green chili. Do not add water while grinding. Keep aside. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When it pops, add the ground paste and saute for a few seconds.

  3. Put in the peas and salt if needed. Add grated coconut and mix well.

  4. Mint flavored peas sundal is ready to be served.
