Peanut Coriander Chutney Recipe

A simple side for South Indian Breakfast dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Roasted peanuts
  • 1/8 cup Roasted Channa dal
  • 1/8 cup Grated coconut
  • 1 inch piece Tamarind
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • 1 cup packed Coriander leaves
  • 2 numbers Red chilies, broken
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon each Mustard and Cumin seeds

Instructions

  1. Take the roasted peanuts, roasted channa dal,coconut, red chilies, tamarind,ginger,salt and coriander leaves in a mixie jar. 

  2. Grind to a smooth paste adding water little by little. Adjust the quantity of water to suit you preferred consistency. Transfer the chutney into a serving bowl.

  3. Heat oil in a small pan and add mustard and cumin. When the mustard pops, pour over the chutney and mix well.

  4. Serve with Idli / Dosa
