Foxtail Millet | Thinai Maavu Poori Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Foxtail millet / thinai flour
  • 1 cup Wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup White rawa
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ajwain seeds /Bishops weed
  • Salt to taste
  • Water to Knead the dough

Instructions

  1. Take all the ingredients in a bowl except the water and mix well.

  2. Add water little by little and knead to a smooth dough

  3. Pinch out small balls and roll into small circles.

  4. Heat oil and fry each disc, it will puff up, Turn over and fry till golden on each side

  5. Remove from oil and serve with a side of your chooice.

Recipe Notes

  • Adding rawa is optional but it will keep the pooris puffy for a while
  • But do not add too much as the pooris will become too crispy.
  • You can add cumin seeds/ sesame seeds instead of ajwain.
