Bindi Raita | Vendakkai Thayir Pachadi Recipe

Crispy fried ladies finger in a creamy yogurt base! Perfect to serve with flavored rice varieties.

Ingredients

  • 10 numbers Tender ladies finger
  • 1 cup Thick yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chili powder as needed
  • 1 tablespoon Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and pat dry the ladies finger and chop thinly.Keep aside.

  2. Heat oil in a small pan and add the mustard and cumin seeds. 

  3. When it pops, add the chopped ladies finger and saute.

  4. Add salt and then saute till it turns crisp.Remove from heat and keep aside.

  5. Whisk yogurt and add salt.


  6. Put in the sauteed ladies finger and serve garnished with a sprinkle of chili powder.

Recipe Notes

  • Use tender ladies finger / Bindi.
  • Thinly slice the Bindi as it will turn crisp faster.
