Jeera Aloo Recipe | Cumin Flavored Potato Curry

A cumin flavored North Indian dry curry

Ingredients

  • 200 grams Baby potatoes, boiled and peeled
  • 2 teaspoons Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons Oil
  • Curry leaves, a few
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves- to garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and curry leaves


  2. When the cumin crackles , add the potatoes and saute for a couple of minutes.


  3. Now add the turmeric powder, coriander powder,chili powder and salt.Cook on low flame , mix well so that the spices coat the potatoes.


  4. Sprinkle a little water if the curry is too dry.Keep stirring once in a while.After 5 minutes, remove from heat.


  5. Serve garnished with coriander leaves.

Recipe Notes

  • Regular potatoes can also be used. Boil and cut them into bite sized pieces.
  • Adjust chili powder to suit your taste
  • Curry leaves is optional and not present in the original recipe.
