Bhujia Paratha Recipe

A filling and delicious paratha with bhujia stuffing!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Whole Wheat flour
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • For Stuffing
  • 100 grams Bhujia
  • 2 tablespoons Finely chopped Onion
  • 1 teaspoon Finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Take the whole wheat flour in a bowl and add salt and mix well.

  2. Add water little by little and knead to a smooth ,non sticky dough.Add oil and knead one more ,cover and keep aside.

  3. Take the bhujia, finely chopped onions, curry leaves, chili powder, a little salt and mix well. This is the filling.

  4. Pinch out a golf sized ball of dough and flatten it a little with a rolling pin.Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center and bring the edges together, sealing the contents well. Now, gently roll out into Parathas, dusting a little whole wheat flour if necessary.

  5. Cook on medium flame over a griddle, till brown spots appear on each side. Do not over heat the griddle as the paratha will get burnt.

  6. Repeat the same process the remaining dough.

  7. Serve hot with curd and pickle.

Recipe Notes

  • Check the taste of the bhujia before adding chili powder and salt. If the taste is ok, do not add more chili powder / salt.
  • Similarly, if the bhujia is plain tasting, add a little amchur powder[Dried mango powder ] to the filling mixture.
  • The filling may / may not be fully used up. If there left over, enjoy it as a snack!
