Dashmi Roti | Savory Version

An Indian flatbread made with whole wheat flour, chickpea flour / besan and some basic spices.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup Besan
  • 1/8 teaspoon Asafoetida powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander-cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons Chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well

  2. Add water little by little and knead to a semi stiff dough

  3. Pinch out equal sized balls of dough and roll out into Rotis

  4. Cook on a heated griddle till brown spots appear on both side

  5. Remove from heat and serve with Curd / Raita and Pickle / Chutney

Recipe Notes

  • Adding coriander leaves is optional.
