Makuni | Bihari Sattu Stuffed Paratha

Paratha with a fried gram dal and spices filling that is not only delicious but filling too!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup Sattu
  • 1 number Onion chopped
  • A handful chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ajwain
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kalonji
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pickle Oil
  • 2 teaspoons Oil, divided
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger garlic paste / Grated ginger and garlic
  • 2 numbers Green chilies, deseeded and chopped
  • Salt to tastw

Instructions

  1. Take wheat flour, salt in a bowl and mix well.Add water little by little and knead to a smooth non stick dough by adding a little oil at the knead. Knead and keep aside.

  2. For the filling take sattu, green chili, onion, ginger, garlic,coriander leaves, ajwain, kalonji,salt,pickle oil, oil in a bowl and mix well. Add little water and mix into a dough.

  3. Pinch out a golf sized ball of dough and flatten it. Place a portion /small ball of the sattu mixture and bring the edges together.

  4. Flatten it and roll out into 4" circle. Cook on a heated griddle till brown spots appear on both side. Remove from griddle and repeat for the remaining dough.

  5. Serve with a side of your choice.
