Uppinakayi Chapathi

A Pickle flavored Chapathi that takes just a few minutes to preapre and is a change from the routine / plain chapathi.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • Pickle - as needed

Instructions

  1. Take the wheat flour and salt in a bowl and mix well.

  2. Add water little by little and knead to a smooth non sticky dough.Add oil and knead once again.

  3. Take a small ball of dough and flatten it a little. Apply a little pickle and bring the edges together.

  4. Roll out into a circle and cook on a heated griddle till brown spots appear on both sides.

  5. Serve with Curd / Raita

Recipe Notes

  • You can use any pickle of your choice. If using pickle with vegetable pieces, you can grind it and apply on the chapathi so that it is easier to roll out and the vegetable pieces will not tear the chapathi.
