Instructions

  1. Take flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl.Whisk well to combine

  2. Take the bananas in another bowl and mash well. Add cane sugar and oil.Whisk well to combine. After the sugar dissolves, add milk and whisk again so that the ingredients blend together.

  3. Add this banana mixture, chopped nuts to the dry ingredients bowl and mix. Since the mixture was too dry, I added another 1/2 cup of milk. gently whisk to get a lumpfree batter.

  5. Remove from oven and let it sit as such for 10 minutes. Remove it from the pan and cool on a wire rack.

  6. After it cools completely cut into slices and serve.

Recipe Notes

  • The same cake can be baked in a round / square / Bundt pan.
  • I used whole wheat flour and cane sugar. You can use All purpose flour / Maida and sweetener of your choice.
  • The original recipe uses only 1/4 cup of milk. I added another 1/2 cup as the mixture was too dry.
  • Adding nuts is optional.
  • The sweetness was just right for the mentioned quantity of sugar. Add more if you prefer or drizzle some chocolate sauce before serving.
  • Check the doneness by inserting the skewer in the middle of the loaf tin. The narrow edges of the pan get done faster.
  • Cool the cake completely before cutting.
  • Store in an air tight container.
