Take the rice flour, besan,powdered roasted gram dal [pottukadalai maavu] , salt, sesame seeds, red chili powder , asafoetida powder in a bowl.
Add butter, hot oil and mix carefully.Add water little by little and make a slightly stiff and non sticky dough
Fit the murukku press with the ribbon pakoda plate and grease the press. Take a portion of the dough and press into hot oil. Fry till the ribbon pakoda is golden brown. Drain and remove from oil.
Serve immediately / store in air tight container once cooled.
