Custard Gulab Jamun Popsicle Recipe

A gorgeous looking popsicle to beat the heat

Ingredients

  • 5 teaspoons Custard Powder
  • 2 cups Milk
  • Sugar to taste
  • 15 Mini Gulab jamun [Homemade / tinned]

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the custard powder in a little cold milk and keep aside

  2. Heat the remaining milk with sugar and once it comes to a boil, add the custard slurry and cook on medium flame till it thicken a bit

  3. Remove from heat and let it cool.

  4. Drain the gulab jamuns from sugar syrup and use for making the popsicle.

  5. In a popsicle mould, place a gulab jamun and top with custard, keep alternating thse two layes till 3/4 full.

  6. Cover and freeze till set.

  7. Before serving, show under a tap , remove the popsice and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

  • You can use ready to serve Gulab jamuns that are available in the market. Just drain them and use.
  • Adjust the consistency of the custard by adding / decreasing the quantity of milk used.
  • Custard will thicken on chilling so don't over cook till it is too thick.
  • I used home made marbe sized gulab jamuns in this recipe.
  • If using regular sized jamuns, cut into half and place in the moulds.
