Irulli Chapathi | Pyaaz ka Paratha Recipe

A delicious onion stuffed paratha

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Whole wheat flour
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • For stuffing:
  • 2 numbers Onion, finely chopped
  • A handful Chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kalonji /Nigella seeds
  • A pinch Salt

Instructions

  1. Take the whole wheat flour in a bowl and add salt and mix well.

  2. Add water little by little and knead to a smooth ,non sticky dough.Add oil and knead one more ,cover and keep aside.

  3. Take finely chopped onion and coriander in a bowl. Add red chili powder and a little salt. Put in nigella seeds and mix well.

  4. Take a golf sized ball of dough and flatten it a little. Place a tablespoon of filling in the center and bring the edges together.

  5. Roll out into a 4*-5" diameter circle dusting a little flour. Cook on a hot griddle till brown spots appear on both sides.

  6. Serve with a side of your choice.

Recipe Notes

  • You can use ajwain / cumin instead of Kalonji /Nigella seeds
  • Garam masala / pav bhaji masala etc can be used instead of red chili powder.
