Paneer Kambu Sevai Recipe

Ingredients

  • 200 grams Kambu Sevai
  • 50 grams Paneer, cut into small cubes
  • 1 no. Onion, sliced thinly
  • 1 no. Tomato, chopped 1
  • 1 tsp Sambar powder
  • A pinch Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Channa Dal
  • 1 no. Red chili, broken into 3 bits
  • A few Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak the kambu sevai for 5 minutes

  2. Heat a vessel for steaming and grease an idli plate / dhokla plate.

  3. Drain the water and spread the sevai over the steaming plate

  4. Steam for 10 minutes and remove from heat.Open the steamer and let it cool a bit

  5. Meanwhile, heat a pan with oil and add mustard , cumin, channa dal , curry leaves, red chilies.

  6. Once the mustard pops and dal turns brown, add onion and saute till soft

  7. Add tomato and cook till mushy

  8. Add paneer,turmeric powder, sambar powder, salt and mix well.

  9. Add the steamed sevai and mix gently till combined.

  10. Serve as such or with coconut chutney

Recipe Notes

  • Chili powder can be used instead of sambar powder.
