A simple and quick Indian dessert prepared in a non traditional way!
Heat milk and condensed milk in a pan
When it starts to boil, remove 1/4 cup from it and mix in the custard powder.
Add this slurry to the boiling milk and simmer for 5 minutes / it till thickens a bit. Keep stirring to avoid lumps.
Put in the saffron soaked milk and mix.
Remove from heat and transfer to a vessel. Cover and let it sit in the fridge to chill.
Using a cookie cutter / a bottle lid, cut out circles from the bread slices and keep it ready.
When ready to serve, arrange the bread on a serving plate and pour the rabri over the bread and garnish with nuts.
