Wheat Flour Burfi Recipe|Easy Dessert

Course Dessert
Cuisine Indian
Cook Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup Ghee
  • 1/2 cup Jaggery,grated / powdered [ Adjust to taste]
  • 1 tbsp Melon seeds / broken cashew

Instructions

  1. Take ghee in a pan and after it heats up a little add the wheat flour and mix

  2. Roast the wheat flour on low flame till the color changes lightly and a good aroma arises. Switch off the heat and add the grated jaggery. Mix well. Due to the heat from the wheat flour, the jaggery will melt and combine to form a dough-like mass. If that doesn't happen, heat gently on low flame and mix well for a few more minutes.

  3. Transfer this to a pan greased with ghee and press down and even out the surface using a ladle.

  4. Sprinkle nuts on top and press them down gently. Let it cool.

  5. When it is lukewarm, mark out squares and once completely cook, remove the burfi from the pan.

  6. Easy Wheat Burfi Recipe is ready!

Recipe Notes

  • You can use cashew nuts / any other nuts instead of melon seeds.
  • I made slightly thick burfis. You can make thinner ones too.
  • Adjust the jaggery to suit your taste.
  • You can also add 1/2 tsp cardamom powder along with the jaggery powder.
