When the routine coconut chutney turns boring,this peanut chutney is a welcome relief.
You need:
Peanuts,roasted – 1 cup
Coconut,grated,2 teaspoons
Green chillies – 2
Curry leaves – a few
Tamarind- a small bit
Salt to taste
Seasoning:
Mustard – 1 teaspoon
Jeera – 1 teaspoon
Urad dhal ,split -1/2 teaspoon
Curry leaves – a few
Oil -2 teaspoons
1.Grind all the ingredints without adding water for a few minutes.
2.Add water little by little and continue grinding.
3.The chutney should not be too smooth.
4.Remove to a serving dish.
5.Heat oil and add the seasoning items and when they splutter and dhal turns brown,pour over the chutney.
6.Mix well and serve.
This is really new to me and also a relief from coconut and coriander leaves chutney. Will try it once and let you know the comments.
