And the final recipe that I made for France is this Savory French Toast. I am sure how much this could be a part of the French cuisine , but I saw several varieties of savory french toasts on the net and made this just as a trail. It did turn out better than expected and Lil Dude had a couple of this for lunch.Getting acceptance from the kids has become a greater part of my experiments and they seem to be enjoying being my guinea pigs ๐Ÿ™‚

Bread slices
Vanilla flavored custard powder- 2 tablespoons
Milk -1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Finely chopped onions
Cumin seeds
Ajwain
Red chili powder

Take the milk and add custard powder, salt, whisk well.Dip the bread slices into this mixture so that both sides are coated with the mixture.Add onions to this mixture

Add the cumin seeds, red chili powder, ajwain and mix well.

Dip the bread slices and place on a heated griddle. Spoon out the onion mixture and place over the bread slice if it does not stick to the bread while dipping.

Cook on both side till golden brown.

Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves with tomato sauce on the side…

Note:

  • I feel that using a thick slice of bread will make the taste even more better.
  • Wait patiently for one side to cook before flipping it over.
  • Instead of custard powder use corn flour and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence.
  • If you don’t mind the calories, drizzle butter around the edges while cooking.

This is part of the 30 day culinary journey around the globe , and I made this for France which also features – Basic French Toast , Chocolate french toast and Savory French Toast.

Bon Appetit…
