I am sitting with my laptop and there is just 20 minutes to post this before the next day starts! My brain cannot come up with any topic at this hour as I am totally blank and I also blame it on the House series that I am watching right now!!So let me take you to the dish of the day for Blogging Marathon #46, week 1, Day 3 under No onion- No Garlic gravy.
Here is a simple gravy that goes well with Roti / Poori and very quick to put together…
I used :
Tomatoes- 2 large
Capsicum-a small, thinly sliced
Besan-2 teaspoons
Kalonji-1/2 teaspoon
Ginger-1/2 teaspoon , minced
Kashmiri Chili Powder- 1 teaspoon
Garam masala -1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Oil- 1 teaspoon
Coriander leaves to garnish
Blanch and pureed.Mix besan with 1/4 cup of water and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan and add the kalonji and ginger.Saute for a few seconds and add the capsicum.Saute for 2-3 minutes till the skin blisters lightly.Add the tomato puree and 1 cup water and mix. Add chili powder and garam masala.
Put in salt and when the mixture comes to a boil, add the besan mixture and simmer till the gravy thickens a bit and the raw smell of the besan disappears.
Serve garnished with coriander leaves…
Note:
The gravy thickens on standing. In that case add a little water and simmer and serve hot…
Bon Appetit…
