Yes, there is a similar recipe in this blog! The fruit cookies recipe that I posted a couple of years back was my go to recipe if I needed to bake and take for friends. Then when I made this Eggless Basic Cookie Dough , I wanted to make something colorful and then this cookie was born. I have added some nuts here and these jeweled beauties were the star of the day!
I have made 5 different cookies with the Eggless Basic Cookie Dough and all the varieties were appreciated and relished by the family. This one is from the final lot of the dough.
I used:
1/5 portion of the Eggless Basic Cookie Dough weighing approx. 150 grams
Tutti frutti – 1/8 cup
Nuts- a few I used almonds and cashews
Take the dried fruits and nuts and chop them finely. Add it to the dough.
Mix in the fruits and shape into a log. Cling wrap it and freeze for half an hour.
Remove the cling wrap and using a serrated knife and cut into slices. Arrange the slices on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.Bake in a pre heated oven at 180 degree C for 12 minutes / till the bottom of the cookies turn light brown. Remove from oven and let it cool on a wire rack.
Bejeweled beauties are ready to be served….
Note:
- Use any dried fruit / nut of your choice
- The baking time will also vary with the size of the cookies and the thickness.
- The cookies will be soft as soon as they come out of the oven and
will turn crisp after they cool.Else bake again for a few more minutes.
I have joined a group of friends in a baking event called
Bake-a-thon.We will be posting baked goodies on Mondays, Wednesdays and
