“By the end of it, you will feel better about some extra flab around your waist, being clumsy sometimes, and for falling in love with the wrong guys – All. The. Time. because it always works out eventually.”

What happens when an ambitious girl-next-door finds herself on her honeymoon all alone, without a husband? What happens when she meets a handsome stranger who proposes a deal too lucrative to walk off from?

This is the story of Mahasweta who just wanted to redeem her self-esteem by at least succeeding at her career. Only, life doesn’t happen that way. A lonely honeymoon turns into an unusual one as she agrees to an unrealistic deal.

This is a short, sweet, silly, feel good love story, with some laughter, some absurdities, some fun, some feelings and a beautiful and kind Fairy Godmother, too!

Over the years ,my taste for book has seen a change. From reading 400+ paged books, I have now come to like small stories or a compilation of short stories. Same goes with genre. I love thrillers but now I have added non fiction too. In this, romcom did not find a place. I thought this book will be a change to the ever happening changes in my taste for books!

First of all, it is a short read, one that you can literally finish off within a couple of hours.

Secondly, its a kind of read that many girls fantasize! A kind of filmy dreamy romcon sort of stuff that would happen to them to add thrill and magic in theor otherwise mundane life!

As the title suggests, Mahasweta or Sweta goes on her honeymoon. Yes,on her honeymoon and all alone! So that is what is unusal here you might think! No! The events that unfold during her stay at the cowboy inn and the others that happen after it is what it really unusual!

Mahasweta is really bold and cool. She is not the typical drop dead gorgeous with a pencil figure. She is just like the girl next door is not much bothered about her figure yet bold enough to go alone on the honeymoon that had been planned months back.

Rahul is a smart guy and is in need of money to keep his inn afloat but has to get married by his 30th birthday so that he has his share of the property / money.

Now you might have got an inking on what would happen. Well, to see if it is right or not, grab the book and read on.

What I liked about this book is that the female lead is not a typical hifi girl with glamourous looks and a lovely figure to boast! She has a good heart and a nice career for which she decides to accept a strange proposition from a stranger! She falls in love yet maintains her composure to get through the deal.

Rahul is also a nice character where he feels he has to do something to keep his inn.He is a guy who loves to cook and decorate the property but knows nothing about running the place! So he makes a deal with Sweta.

Sweta’s granny is another character who is very much unlike any granny I have seen. She takes on the reins when she finds out about Sweta’s love and steers her life in the right direction.

And of course,Aasmaan the super model who travels the world and is infact drop dead gorgeous and famous,is Rahul’s girl friend and she behaves exactly like what is expected of her! She sticks to him just to suck out his money!

Sweta’s new in-laws bring to our eyes the scences from the TV series where the MIL is the central authoratative figure and her children and their wives suck up to her!

Last but not least, Akshay, Sweta’s the dull and boring finace who runs away with her best friend just before their wedding and he is the main reason for this story to unflold.

All the characters in this book are well laid out and their background fits well into the story.

The language is simple and quick to read as well. I finished this book in less that two hours with a lunch break in between!

This is a fiction but I’m sure most of us would have dreamt of such situations happening in our lives! If you like Romcom you will love this one. Even otherwise go for this book. It is a short fun, read and I enjoyed this book as it had a good pace and was quick to finish too.

This is a novel with a happy ending but with a lot of suprises, twists and turns in between.
