We often emphasize that breakfast should be the highlight meal of the day.Breakfast like a King, they say, right. But sometime [or many a times], preparing breakfast, especially, a breakfast for one, becomes boring or when one is lazy to make a single serve breakfast, it becomes a chore!
This breakfast bowl is so simple that you will feel that it is no work at all!!!But it surely does not comprise on satiety / nutrition…
Frankly speaking, I am sure under which country to categorize this dish under. I am sure you know that we are doing a month long marathon with themes for each week and this week is Breakfast dishes across the globe.
I have fallen in love with this dish and my love is so great that I had to share it here. Hence I am going to fit it under a general name- International breakfast and hope that my fellow bloggers won’t mind me naming it in this manner.
My affinity Chia was kindled by my dear friend Priya who Camps in her kitchen.Ever since she sent me these wonder seeds, I have been experimenting with them a lot. This one is my fav.If you have time to look around, do hop over to this post to read about Chia seeds and also take a look at a few recipes that I have tried…
This isn’t much of a recipe though. But here is what I did. Change the topping to suit your taste or according to what you hand.
I used:
Chia seeds- 1 tablespoon
Coconut milk-1 cup
Sugar- 1 teaspoon
Topping
Fruits and nuts
Whisk the Chia seeds into coconut so that there are no lumps. Add sugar and mix. Leave it in the fridge overnight.
The next morning, check the consistency as the mixture will look like a gel. Add more coconut milk and serve topped with fruits and nuts of your choice.Did I tell you this was an easy breezy breakfast that required no cooking!
Here I have used – Papaya, dates, pomegranate ,melon seeds, almonds.Feel free to add any fruits and nuts of your choice.
Take a look at all that was served so far on The Buffet On Table…
