Quinoa is one of the grains that is gaining popularity around here. Though it is quite expensive, the gourmet stores sure do stock them.
I was lucky to get a pack from Usha when she visited here a while ago and since then I have been looking forward to trying new dishes with it.
The first one – Quinoa bisi bele bhath was a hit and all at home enjoyed it. So I have been cooking a few dishes with it which I will be posting in the coming day.
Before we get on to the recipes, here is how to cook quinoa….
Take a cup of quinoa and rinse it n cold water. Strain using a fine meshed strainer. And tip it into a large vessel.
Now add 2 cups of water and pressure cook for 15 minutes / till it is cooked. Once the pressure releases, remove the vessel from the cooker and fluff it up gently with a fork.
Cooked Quinoa is ready!!!
Note:
- It can also be cooked on the stove top in a pan.But the time taken to cook it will be more.
- You can also add a little salt while cooking, but I did not add .
Bon Appetit…
