Eggless Chocolate Chip Pancake Recipe | #BreadBakers recipe with step by step pictures
It has been ages since I posted in the #BreadBakers group. Though I joined it enthusiastically, I have not posted a recipe in the group for more than a year and a half.
I see the theme each month and gear up to make it and finally I neither get it done and if I do get it done, it won’t be on time! This month, just when the deadline loomed, I signed up to make a dish.
The theme for the month is Pancakes. The over enthusiastic me, did not read the full announcement and went on with a plan to make a simple pancake. I haven’t posted any pancake recipe so far and so I decided to made a very basic recipe of the dish.
I zeroed on chocolate chip pancake and I was sure it would be a hit as it has chocolate chips and will be accepted by the taste testers in the family.
The pancake was fluffy and delicious . I was elated! So, when dad tasted this, he said it tasted like our wheat dosa with a sweet touch. Yes, I had used whole wheat flour and hence he related to the taste!
When I was just about to publish this post, I re-read the announcement and saw the number of variations that were suggested. Not only pancakes, but also Crepes, Blintzes, Abelskivers, Hotteoks, Dosas were on the list! Had I read the announcement properly, I would have probably made something exotic. Or maybe not!!
Well, anyways, here I am with a delicious and fluffy pancake recipe…

Repeat with the remaining batter.
- I have used whole wheat flour. You can also make this with APF / Maida
- I added a few mango and strawberry flavored chocolate chips too the batter. You can skip it and add the regular chocolate chips.
- You can add a tablespoon of cocoa powder to the dry mixture to get chocolate pancakes.
- Mashed banana can also be added to this mixture.
- The number of pancakes will depend on the quantity of batter used for each pancake.

#BreadBakers is a group of bread loving bakers who get together once a month to bake bread with a common ingredient or theme. Follow our Pinterest board right here. Links are also updated each month on this home page.
We take turns hosting each month and choosing the theme/ingredient.
This also goes to Srivalli’s kids delight event , hosted @ the Mad Scientist’s Kitchen and Archana has chosen the theme – Cooking on Tawa.
I am so glad that you finally were able to join us and I think you read the announcement just fine. This recipe is perfect to share in this event.
