3 Ingredient Potukkadalai Ladoo | Vegan , GF with step by step pictures
The final dish for the theme of the week – 3 ingredient dishes in Blogging Marathon #85 is this dessert that was made this morning after a small discussion with mom to check if the idea will work out or not!
The idea did work out and it tasted great too!
The 3 ingredients used here are Fried gram dal/Potukkadalai, unrefined cane sugar / karumbu sakkarai and sesame seeds/ellu.
Fried gram dal / roasted gram dal is a protein rich ingredient that has low GI and is also gluten free. It is a good source of dietary fiber. Cane sugar and sesame seeds are good sources of Iron and hence this falls under the healthy dessert category.
And it takes less than 5 minutes to make this dish!!

I coild have never guessed that there were only three ingredients in the ladoo. Really amazing recipe.
Growing up use to eat putnalu (fried gram) and jaggery as a snack. Never thought of a laddu and also like the fact these laddu do not require any ghee to bind it together.
As Usha mentioned we were given putnalu and jaggery for a snack when we went to our grandma’s place. These laddus look so good and wouldn’t mind gobbling a couple.
We make something called maladoo. Its pottukadalai, ghee, and sugar. This version is a good alternative to the recipe we are used to. Nice one.
Love these kind of desserts that take just a few ingredients and few minutes to make. Your pottukkadalai laddoo look so so tempting. I want make them right now 🙂
