I usually add oats flour to whole wheat flour while kneading the dough for Roti / paratha. So when I chose to make something with Oats for the alphabet O, I wanted to make it a little different and not like the usual Roti.
My original plan was to make Obattu, the traditional way, but I was not in a mood make something elaborate and settled for this one.
I had some mint chutney that I made this morning and that found its way into this Paratha.I added a little bit of flaxseeds, poppy seeds and chia seeds as topping to add an interesting twist to the plain looking paratha.
This paratha does not need a side dish and is good to be packed in lunch boxes or to be taken along during travel. We had this with coffee and it was quite filling.
I am making some more for dinner tonight and I am sure my folks will not complain!
So,while I was making this one, Lil Angel too wanted to try her hand in making parathas. She keenly watched what I did and tried out a mini version of the same. I was so happy to see her take interest in cooking. She happily distributed the one she made to all at home and was so proud that she too cooked!!
