I really have to thank my stars that I had all the dishes  that I wanted to post for Blogging Marathon – 41, Week #2 – Summer specials in the drafts! The vacation was fun and hectic at the same time and I was not able to sit much for the blog. So there was a huge backlog of blog hopping and commenting. So I chose just two weeks of Blogging Marathon and had one weeks theme ready. And I did not realise that while signing up! It was only when I was going through my 100 odd drafts did I see that I had the posts ready for summer special!

This is one of those posts that I wanted to write when I posted the Indian style potato sandwich which itself came out from the drafts after a long time! So I can say that this recipe is almost a year over due!

Jaljeera is a cumin flavored Indian drink that is quite famous in the Northern parts of India. It has mint and black salt which are good for digestion and this drink is also a good cooler for summer!

I used:
[Adjust the ingredients to suit your taste]
Dry roasted cumin seed powder- 3 teaspoons
Minced mint leaves- 1 tablespoon
Dry mango powder / Amchur- 1 teaspoon
Black salt- 1/2 teaspoon
Lime juice- 2 teaspoons
Chilled water
Ice cubes
Mint leaves and Boondi to garnish
In a bowl take all the ingredients  except the garnish and mix well.Serve in a glass with ice cubes, mint leaves and boondi garnish…

This also goes to Pari’s ONLY event, this month hosted by Shailaja of Sahasra Recipes with the theme – Only Summer food and Drinks

Bon Appetit …

  1. I haven't yet been able to wrap myself around Indian savory beverages yet – its something that my palate is not yet ready to embrace but it does sound flavorful

  2. I heard a lot abut jal jeera but never tasted it. It is such an easy recipe, I should try it some time.

Btw, the new header looks good.
