A simple masala / spice mix can brighten up a dish for sure. One such mix is the coriander – cumin powder, a very simple blend of two aromatic spices.

You can add this to curries or sambar just before you take it off the stove. It surely gives an added taste to the dish. The aroma of the spice roasting itself is very appetizing.
I use :
Cumin seeds- 1/2 cup
Coriander seeds – 1 cup
- Heat a pan and roast the cumin seeds and coriander seeds separately on low flame till the color changes and turns aromatic.
- Spread on a plate and let it cool.
- Grind to a semi -fine powder and store in air tight container.
Bon Appetit…
