A while ago I saw this fruit on a cart being sold on the streets. I wanted to get it then and there but was not able to park the car since we were in the middle of a rush hour traffic. A few days later, I saw it again in another place and jumped at the opportunity to buy it.
Here is Tamil Nadu, South India, it is called Panner Nellikkai. I got this name from the vendor who also said this fruit is good for people with high blood pressure and diabetes. I am really not sure if what he said is true or if it was one of their sales gimmicks…
I got 250 grams for INR 40 and a couple of days later SIL got 100 grams for INR 30!!

I made a couple of dishes using this fruit. Will post it in the coming days. I loved eating it sprinkled with a little salt and chilli powder.It was truly delicious!
