Having made an array of Salsas to go with the HomemadeTortilla chips, I also made this simple cheese dip. Lil Angel couldn’t stop licking the bowl of sauce and she said she wanted more of it to eat as a side with all her favorite snacks!
I used:
Butter- 1 tablespoon
Flour- 2 teaspoons
Milk-1 cup
Red chili powder-1/2 teaspoon
Oregano- 1/2 teaspoon
Cheese- 2 small cubes
Salt to taste
Heat butter in a pan and add the flour. Mix well and when it turns light brown, add the milk and remove from heat.Whisk well so that there are no lumps and then out it back on the stove. Cook on low flame till it thickens a bit. Add chili powder, oregano, grated cheese, salt and keep whisking till you get a homogeneous mixture.
Remove from heat and transfer onto a serving dish.
Serve chilled with Tortilla Chips…
Note:
The dip will thicken on cooling. If that happens, put it back on the stove and add a little milk, whisk well and cook on low flame till you get the consistency of your preference.
