It has been a month or so since I read any book and even more than since I read a collection of short stories. So when this book came in for review, I knew it would be a change and I will be able to re start the reading journey.
I finished it in one go though it is 200 odd pages in length ! This book is a collection of 13 short stories .
The stories are something that we see happening around us and we can connect to the characters easily.
The language is simple and easy to follow. The story flows smoothly through the pages.
The humor here is something that will make you laugh / chuckle in parts and there is no satire involved!And there are some emotional pages too!
The footnotes are really funny and I enjoyed reading those too.
Some of the stories really had a twist in the end while a few, I could predict.
Each of the of stories are different from each other and have no resemblance to each other.
I really liked the chance encounter where one of the character speaks English with an American accent and I was actually chuckling while reading those line!
The only thing I felt was the usage of Hindi in between. If someone without the knowledge of the language picks it might be a hurdle for them!
Yes,go for it! It is a nice collection of short stories and with a twist. If not able to read it in one go, you can always read them one by one and that’s the nice thing about reading a collection of short stories !
Academically overburdened (Engineering from WCE + MBA1 from NMIMS + MBA2 from IIM Ahmedabad), and professionally scarred (a 19 year circuitous pursuit of corporate nirvana), Anirban is finally getting serious in life, by dabbling in humour.
