A collection of recipes with Sago Pearls / Sabudana as the star ingredient.


Sago pearls are also known as Tapioca Pearls, Javvarisi[Tamil], Sabudana[Hindi], Sabakki [Kannada],Sago, Rabia, Saksak,Sagu etc.

It is made from the Tapioca / Cassava root and is used in many countries to prepare various dishes.

Boba pearls that are quite popular and used in drinks/beverages are black/brown in color and are also made from Tapioca / Cassava.

It is rich in carbohydrates and has less of protein and other vitamins and minerals.

Sago pearls are generally soaked in water before cooking/adding it to other dishes.

Sabudana / Sago is usually used to make dishes that can be taken during religious fasting / Vrat.

We make a variety of both sweet and savory dishes with sago pearls and here are a few of them from my blog.
