The month of September 2020 is going to be super exciting! Well , April and September of each year is exciting and its because we do the month long Mega blogging marathon!
Check out the A-Z BM / Mega BM link to find out what all themes we have been doing in the past.
This April we did not do a Mega marathon as it was around that time that the pandemic had broken out and we were not in a mood to do elaborate stuffs for the blog.So it was postponed to September.
This September its going to be Thalis and Platters!! The team led by Srivalli has been discussing this theme for a long time and we finally took the plunge!
I was not sure if I could do this one as I have not been posting regularly all of last year and I have literally lost the mojo to write a post!
With some coaxing, cajoling and threatening from my BM friends, I finally decided to take part in this mega BM! And I am super thrilled!
Here is what we are going to do for the September Mega Marathon…
September 2020 is divided into 5 weeks in the pattern below
- Week 1 – 4 days (From Sep 01st to Sep 04th)
- Week 2 – 6 days (From Sep 06th to Sep 11th)
- Week 3 – 6 days (From Sep 13th to Sep 18th)
- Week 4 – 6 days (From Sep 20th to Sep 25th)
- Week 5 – 4 days (From Sep 27th to Sep 30th)
The themes are:
- Simple every day assembled mini thalis.
- Platters (Sandwiches, Chaats, International spreads, Evening Tea Time platters, etc)
- Thalis featuring Indian Bread.
- Thalis featuring Regional Cuisines. This thali focuses on perfect traditional Thali
- Breakfasts from different states, each one for each day or theme based thalis
Guidelines
- We have 5 themes, which can be featured for any week.
- Each day will feature a new thali.Which means, we can use a thali that was already posted on the blog before September 2020, but still has 1 new dish to share.
- Mini Thalis with 3 to 4 dishes (can include pickle, curds, etc).Elaborate Thali with at least 6 to 7 dishes (can include pickle, curds, etc) can be featured.
General rules:
- Each day should feature a new thali. We can share thalis posted before September 2020.
- The simple assembled thali can highlight either a drink/dry saute/ gravy/rice/roti, along with other regular condiments
- Regional cuisines must have only regional specialties of those cuisines.
- Each day can have only ONE new recipe posted, rest can be either linked to previously shared recipes or can have links to future posts as well.
- Simple every day assembled thalis can be of any cuisine, however, each dish should complement each other. (meaning it should have some carb, protein, veggies, etc)However, if we are featuring theme specific thali like protein rich, it can exclude carbs.
I am sure you are as eager as I am to see what my friends are cooking for this thali and platter Mela! So do come back tomorrow to see what all we are going to post!
