This Sunflower Seed Ladoo|Engery Balls Recipe is for one of the Instagram group challenges -#monthlyseedchallange and the seed for the month was Sunflower Seeds! This is a vegan and gluten free recipe that can be enjoyed by everyone!
This is a very simple recipe with just 3 basic ingedients and requires less than 10 minutes to get done.
As mentioned in several of the ladoo recipes posts, my kids prefer this to other sweets and also ladoo is so easy to prepare and thereby less time in kitchen yet you have a healthy dessert!

A quick to prepare ladoo / energy balls that can be made in less than 10 minutes
- 1/2 cup Sunflower Seeds
- 1/4 cup Roasted Channa Dal / Potukkadalai
- 1/4 cup Powdered Jaggery
- A Large Pinch Salt
- Finely chopped Pistachio for garnishing

Roast the sunflower seeds till it changes color lightly and becomes aromatic.Let it cool for a few minutes

In a blender / mixie jar, take roasted channa dal, roasted sunflower seeds, powdered jaggery and salt.

Powder well

Transfer to a bowl and shape into balls when the mixture is still warm

Serve garnished with finely chopped pistachio
- You can use roasted peanuts instead of roasted channa dal
- Adjust the quantity of jaggery to suit your taste
- If you are not able to shape into ladoos, add a little ghee / warm milk little by little and shape again.
- The ladoo will hold its shape as it cools.
Step by step method to prepare Sunflower Seed Ladoo|Engery Balls Recipe
Take the sumflower seeds in a pan and roast till light brown and aromatic. Remove for pan and cool for a few minutes.
In a blender / mixie jar take roasted channa dal , rasted sunflower seeds, powdered jaggery, salt
Powder well and transfer onto a plate / bowl. While it is still warm, take a fistfull of the powder and make into balls.
Garnish with a finely chopped pistachio.
Serve immediately or store in an airtight jar.
