Believe it or not,Cabbage is one of my favorite vegetable! While Ihe husband is the exact opposite of me, the kids are quite OK when I make this Quick and Easy Cabbage Stir Fry Recipe.


This cabbage porriyal / stir fry can be easily made in a pressure cooker or even in a pan / kadai. Though it is made in a pressure cooker this cannot be classified as an OPOS recipe .

In the method that I make this dish,I add ingredients one by one, saute for a while and then pressure cook and let the pressure fall on its own and then add the finishing touches.

If you use grated cabbage instead of chopping it, then it can be made in a pan. If you have a microwave, cook the cabbage in it and give it a seasoning in the kadai.

Whichever method you make this one, it is super easy and so good.

Step by step method to prepare Quick and Easy Cabbage Stir Fry Recipe

Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add mustard, cumin, channa dal, broken red chilies, curry leaves.Once the mustard pops and the dal turns brown, add the chopped cabbage and saute for a few seconds.

Add salt and mix well.Add very little water and pressure cook for 2 whistles.

Once the pressure releases, open the cooker.If there is excess water, keep it on high flame and cook till the water evaporates. Else add grated coconut,give it a mix and transfer to a serving dish.

My favorite cabbage curry is ready to be served!!

Ingredients
  • 2 cups Finely chopped cabbage
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1/2 teapoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Channa dal
  • 2 numbers Red chilies,broken
  • A few Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
