Chapathi is a hot favorite among the kids. I try a lot of varieties and I make them quite often. This is one more dish that I now love to make for them.It is a little calorie dense taking into account the quantity of butter used, but it is okay for the kids to enjoy this once on a while.
This is the Yemeni flat bread that I made for Y for Yemen in the 30 day Culinary journey across the globe.
I served this along with the Yemeni Lentil soup and it tasted a lot like our Roti and Dal!This bread gets its name based on the method it is cooked – Tawa – Griddle. It is a popular fresh bread and it goes with any type of side dishes.
Drizzle melted butter [generously] and fold as shown. When each side is folded, drizzle butter and fold. Make a square shape and roll out the into a large square dusting flour on the work surface.
Heat a large griddle and cook the bread drizzling a generous amount of butter. When both the side show brown spots, remove from griddle and serve brushed with more butter.
I served this buttery deliciousness with Yemeni Lentil soup
It tasted a lot like our Butter Naan. The kids loved this combo..
Nice and simple and looks great with the dal.
This is similar to parathas we make at home but in different shape. And it with butter, it must have tasted even better.
