Little Angel has a weakness for paneer. Little dude however won’t eat it if I serve it as paneer but will dig into the same dish if I mention the word ‘mushroom’! Funny isn’t it!!So that is how I serve paneer all the time. Be it any form, Lil Dude loves his ‘mushroom’!!

So I made this one night and knew there would be no left overs ,so boldly clicked it at night. I hate taking pics at night but sometimes I am forced to do it. Even though the pics are edited, somehow I am never satisfied with them. But this time, I had no option but to do the inevitable!

This is quite a simple curry with subtle flavors.Use the spices judiciously so that they do not over powder the dish.

This is the dish for Blogging Marathon #49, Week 1,Day 1 under theme Kids Delight – Say Cheese…

Paneer – 200 grams
Chopped capsicum- 1/2 cup
Onion-1,sliced
Ginger ,garlic, finely chopped- 1/2 teaspoon each
Kalonji-1/2 teaspoon
Coriander powder- 1 teaspoon
Red chili powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Garam masala-1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder- a large pinch
Kasuri methi-1/2 teaspoon, lightly crushed
Salt – to taste
Oil- 1 tablespoon
Coriander leaves to garnish
For the marinade

Curd- 3 tablespoons
Red chili powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder- a pinch
Kasuri methi-a large pinch

Cut the paneer into small cubes and let it sit in warm water for 15 minutes. Do this step if you are using store bought paneer. If homemade, skip this step. Drain once ready to cook the dish.

Take the paneer and the marinade ingredients and mix well so that the masala and curd coat the paneer pieces.Keep aside for half an

Heat oil in a pan and spread the paneer over the pan without over crowding the pan. Gently turn them around till the panner turns a little brown around the edges. Do not over cook. The paneer will turn rubbery.

In the remaining oil, add the kalonji and saute onion, garlic and ginger.when the onion turns brown, add the capsicum and cook for a few minutes till the capsicum is cooked yet retains a little crunch.
Add the paneer cubes, the red chili powder, turmeric powder.

Put in the coriander powder, salt, garam masala and the remaining marinade, kasuri methi [if any].Mix gently and remove from the pan.

Serve garnished with coriander leaves…

Bon Appetit…

the cost over the value of a routine monthly maintenance bill.
Now it could be sent electronically, and billed instantly.
