Microwave Masala Peanut | Easy Snack Recipe with step by step pictures
Blogging Marathon #80 / Day -2
Theme – Protein rich dishes
Protein rich ingredient – Peanuts
Masala peanuts is one of our favorite snacks but sadly its been a while since we made it at home. The ones that you get in the shops are bright red in color and extremely oily and spicy. Just looking at the pack wants me to move further away from it!
A month ago I was going through my list for this months protein rich theme and that’s when I wanted to make these masala peanuts.
I made a small batch in the microwave to check how it turns out . I must admit that it was very addictive and as always, I wished I had made a larger batch!
This can also be deep fried instead of cooking in on the microwave.
How to prepare Microwave Masala Peanut | Easy Snack Recipe
Soak the peanut for an hour. Drain and take in a bowl.
Add besan, rice flour, salt , baking soda ,red chili powder. Sprinkle water little by little and mix. The masala should coat the peanuts.
[After this stage you can also deep fry it]
Now spread the masala coated peanuts onto a microwave proof plate. Microwave on high for 4 minutes.
Remove from the microwave and while still warm gently remove the clusters. Microwave once again for a minute or two.
The peanuts will be soft as soon as they are out of teh microwave but will turn crisp as soon as they cool down. If they are still soft, microwave for another minute.
Serve as a snack with a cup of tea / coffee.
Note:
- Microwave timings will vary.
- You can also add amchur powder[dry mango powder] while making the masala coating / sprinkle chaat masala while serving
- If you feel there is less masala in the coating, add more besan / rice flour.
- The masala coating must be thick and not watery.
