The new month has started and so has the next edition of Blogging Marathon and the first post is MoreKuzhambu Sevai Recipe.

This month for the first week I have chosen – restaurant recreation as the theme. I discussed this theme with the kids and all that they suggested were already a part of the blog and I could not break my head any further.

And then I one fine day while I was going through some pics in the mobile, I saw some dishes that I had clicked at some restaurant and then picked out 2 of those.

The third one is this MoreKuzhambu Sevai Recipe. This is not from a restaurant menu but from a home catering service that we sometimes order from. The food is homely and less spiced, just the way we prepare at home. Sometimes when we have guests / when I’m too tired to cook , we order in from them.

The elderly couple who run this catering service are so good hearted and often remember our choices and preferences. They know about our love for sevai / Idiyappam and never fail to let us know when they put it on their menu.

One day I saw this MoreKuzhambu Sevai in their menu and was intrigued. That aunty assured me that it would taste awesome with a crunchy pappad!

Morekuzhabu is the yogurt based gravy also known as majjige huli/ khadi. Sevai is a sort of home made rice noodles that are freshly pressed , steamed and had such such or seasoned.

I wanted to try it out and so glad that I did! It was really a different combo unlike the Lemon sevai , coconut sevai , ellu sevai, vegetable sevai, Poodu[garlic] sevai, carrot tomato sevai that we make at home.

If you haven’t tried this combo of plain sevai with morekuzhambu / Majjige huli do give it a try. But be sure not to miss the pappad. Crush a few and top it over the sevai and morekuzhambu and you will be so delighted at the taste.

We loved it so much that mom asked me to prepare some extra morekuzhambu that we make for lunch one day so that we have have this combo for dinner! No extra work of chopping veggies / seasoning the sevai!

Here is how to prepare this simple Morekuzhambu Sevai Recipe:

There is no recipe per say! All you need is freshly pressed / store brought Sevai / Idiyappam, More kuzhambu / Majjige Huli and lots of pappad.

Take the sevai in a bowl. Pour warm ladlefuls of morekuzhambu over it and top it up with crushed pappad. Enjoy the delicious meal!

You can use any morekuzhabu that you regularly prepare at home. You can also try this out with Idiyappam.

I microwaved the pappad for a few seconds and used it here. It is a quick method and also knowing that we will use up a lot of these crisps, I thought this will be a better way.
