CAN YOU FORGET YOUR TRUE LOVE?

Akash is devastated when his wife Nisha dies of cancer, leaving him all alone to raise their fouryear- old daughter, Sara. He finds it impossible to deal with the void in his life, and coping with the demands of being a single parent makes the situation worse. The crisis affects his professional life as well, which, too, takes an unexpected turn.

Subah is a painter who started hating men ever since she was dumped by her boyfriend for another woman. She runs an NGO that helps women whose lives have been ruined by abusive men.

When Akash meets Subah their lives change forever, but Akash is ridden with guilt as he finds himself getting closer to Subah. Can he be in love with two women at the same time? The Last Love Letter explores the contours of broken relationships and the meaning of commitment in modern India. The book discovers that love is neither about control nor surrender but a blessing that can only be experienced by listening to the heart.

I was so glad to receive a copy of the book for review. I am a fan of Kulpreet Yadav’s works and I can proudly say, I own / read all of his books!

All his books are steeped with mystery and are super thrillers and crime based. So when this one came up under Romantic fiction, I was not sure what to expect!

I started reading it with the expectation of it being all about people being in relationships, falling in/out of love and all that usual stuff associated with love. But the author proved me wrong!

Akash has lost his wife to cancer and is holding on to the memories of the life with her and still reads his wife’s last letter to him!

Subah is jilted in love and has a bad impression on all men including Akash who she meets during her art exhibition.

Even thought there was a rough start, the two get along. Will they change their minds and fall in love or will they hold on to their past memories and dejection and live the same life holding on the past? Well, that is for you to read and find out.

What I liked the most about this book / story is that the author has managed to keep up the suspense till the very end.And , yes,I mean literally! Just like his crime novels where I am usually at the edge of the seat waiting to know how the story progresses, I was going through the same emotion reading a romantic novel!

Akash’s past is beautiful till he loses his wife and I liked the character for still clinging on to the past ,living with the memories of his wife and trying his best to bring up their lil one. In a world where people get bored of being in love with a person for a while, Akash’s character is so nice to read about!

Subah on the other hand is a character that I felt sorry for! I seriously routed and hoped for her to change her mindset about men. Her behavior towards men is totally justified by the events of her life and those whom she helped through the NGO project that she runs.

Sara is such a cutie pie who misses her mom and has all the charms a little one is expected to have.

Akash’s mother is so supportive and yet wants her son to be happy and so is Mr.Raichand , his boss who understands his situation and gives his leave with salary!

His friends Rohit and James really do their best to help out Akash in all ways possible to ensure his happiness.

All emotions – love, betrayal, depression, helplessness, friendship, separation form a loved one,dilemma/confusion are seen throughout the book. Relationship aspects are beautifully pictured .

And another thing that I liked is that though this is a romantic fiction , it does not have those cheesy things and cringe worthy moments. That’s something that I really appreciate – a decent love story without obscenity!

The language is simple and there is no place in which you feel like skipping a few pages. The story moves on effortlessly and is a page turner for sure!

Since it is fast paced, you can finish off it one go.

The cover is simple yet attractive and totally relates to the story line.

All in all a very beautifully crafted love story!

If you are looking for a nice and decant romantic fiction, this one is for you. I would go further in recommending The Last Love Letter as this is a romantic novel which is really thrilling till the end. Go for it. I’m sure you will enjoy the story.
