Little Millet[Samai] Vegetable Soup Recipe
Yesterday, I started the Mega Blogging Marathon with the Ragi flakes, dry fruits and nuts Ladoo and today it is a savory dish using another millet- Samai.
Here is what this millet is known as in other languages…
Little Millet -Scientific Name- Panicum sumatrense,Samai [Tamil], Kutki [Hindi], Samo, Jungle rice.
This is a very simple dish, one that can be had as a breakfast dish or as a soup! Just adjust the consistency and have it as a thick porridge for breakfast or as a thin soup!!
I just put everything into a pressure cooker and cooked it. You can add vegetables of your choice. I added sambar powder but you can add any other spice mix of your choice. Also I did not add tomato. You can add it if you prefer.
The best part of this soup / porridge is that it has zero oil!!
