When kids refuse to eat veggies, one of the best ways is to hide / mask it in other dishes! And this Crispy Carrot Dosa Recipe fits the bill perfectly!

I have been doing this masking business a lot for the Lil one who detests vegetables but this one he ate without complaint as he loves carrots and it is the only vegetable [apart from potato] he eats willingly!

This recipe was bookmarked from Jinoo’s Kitchen and wanted to make it when she posted it long back. Finally made it from this Mega BM where I have chosen Flatbreads as the theme for Week 2.

This dosa does not taste sweet due to the addition of Carrots because we are adding ginger to balance the flavors.

I served this with Sambar, Madurai Special Thanni Chutney , mint podi followed by piping hot filter coffee.

Madurai Special Thanni [watery] chutney is a super delicious chutney that is served in the eateries in MAdurai, the temple town in Tamil Nadu.

This chutney makes use of shallots which add a special flavor to the chutney. Surprisingly, the raw flavor can never be felt! It tastes so good with Idli , Dosa / Uthappam varieties.

  1. Very crisp dosa ! PJ , I would never think of adding carrots and ginger to the dosa . I have seen it in rawa dosa and schezwan dosa , and I always pick it out like a kid ! Blending it with the batter is a great idea , gives a great colour too .
    Wonderful pick and theme !

  2. Very colorful platter with mouthwatering dosas. My kids have always been carrot eaters so never thought of grinding it up in the batter. I do that with other veggies though ๐Ÿ™‚ I wonder what that Madurai thanni chutney is all about.
