Masala Sevai Recipe is one of the Quick and Easy Kids Breakfast ideas! Earlier my kids used to skip breakfast and settle down for a cup of milk before leaving to school. I was so worried and came up with ways that would make them eat.
I tried innovative ideas and something that was quick to prepare too as there was so much work in the morning.
Now the kids are a bit grown up and they have either realized that they need to have breakfast before heading to out school or they are hungry by the time they reach school and can’t concentrate!
Whatever the reason, I’m glad that they are not skipping breakfast.
With the pandemic and the children attending online classes, this recipe comes in handy when we need a quick fix breakfast.
This masala Sevai recipe is a very quick dish to prepare when you have the plain idiyappam or sevai ready.
We are very lucky to get freshly pressed Sevai / idiyappam near our house. So I buy a couple of packs and put it in the fridge the night before. The next morning I sprinkle a little water and either microwave / steam for a few minutes and it is soft as new.
If the freshly made idiyappam / sevai is unavailable , I use Concord brand rice sevai sticks which are also a breeze to prepare. The directions are given on the pack and I follow that method.
As for the masala part, I use sambar powder. You can use any masala powder of your choice. The other ingredients are just onion and tomatoes. So I guess you would have figured out the recipe by now!
Here are a few other easy recipes with Sevai – ellu sevai, vegetable sevai, Poodu[garlic] sevai, carrot tomato sevai
